when mommy told me that one of her friends got into a tragedy, i was really appalled by it. i guess she was too. it was lucky for her friend and some of her relatives to have survived but both her parents did not. mommy told me that she was actually on a boat to a resort but it capsized along the way because the crew apparently boarded the passengers more than that of the supposed load. seriously, i guess that these ppl are friggin unresponsible thus leading to the loss of lives. the most sad thing was that the ppl did not help to save the drowning victims, instead, they grabbed other ppl's bags and belongings which of course, is stealing.
so mommy's friend did not only lost her parents, she also lost her possessions. just imagine urself trying to save ur dear life when others are stealing ur belongings. wht's worse is that u have to face the fact that u've lost ur loved ones. i was seriously touched by this and it did give me sort of a wake up call. i guess that we have to appreciate our parents more and never ever disobey them. sometimes it's hard not to feel angry towards them but i think that whtever they're telling us be it a nag or a dressing down, it is for our own good. cos at the end of the day, they are our parents and i know that if we were to lose them, it'll be devastating. fortunately for my mom's friend, she survived along with her boyfriend and 3 sisters. but of course, it is still agonising for her because she lost both her parents at the same time. sometimes, we dont know wht will happen to us so let us stop taking advantage of wht we have and start appreciating.
on the other hand, since there's a confirmed case on the swine flu in SG, i hope that everybody would take care of urselves properly and of course, always stay healthy. the sad thing abt this once again is that the victim is a young 22 yr old woman.
i say all of this because i think that life is very precious and that we should love every minute of it even if it's bringing us down.
